We have received notification that an overseas entity is approaching some of our customers, pretending to be us. They may attempt to contact you using WhatsApp, Email and Text Messages and ask for payments upfront before a loan can be provided, we will never ask for any upfront payments, and neither will our lenders.

If you suspect someone is falsely using our company name, please let us know immediately to enable us to address the issue as early as possible.

We treat the safety and privacy of our customers as a priority. We provide this page to help forewarn and provide some guidance if you think you may have become a victim of fraud or financial crime.

We want to make sure that our customers are as safe as possible online, this page includes helpful information for spotting scammers or any suspicious activity whilst using our site and how to report it.

Top tips for avoiding financial scammers

  • Never pay money upfront for the promise of a loan.
  • Never give out personal information unless you can confirm the company is legitimate.
  • Always expand your email address panel to view the address the email was sent from. This can help you identify spam emails.
  • Avoid clicking links in text messages or emails.
  • If you’re unsure whether you’re talking with a lender or a scammer, hang up the phone and call the lender directly.

If you receive a scam email

Forward the email to report@phishing.gov.uk. It will go to the National Cyber Security Centre - they might be able to stop other people being scammed.

If a scammer is imitating a company or person

A common imitation scam involves emails, texts or calls that seem to be from a trusted source, and they often request personal information, for example, passwords or bank details. Never give out personal information unless you are certain the company is legitimate.

How to report scammers or fraudulent firms

If you’ve been contacted by a firm you believe to be unauthorised or part of a scam, you can report them to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The FCA will investigate scams involving investments, pensions, loans, insurance and claims management.

To report a scam to the FCA, you can fill in their contact form or call them Monday to Friday, 8 am - 6 pm and Saturday, 9 am to 1 pm, on these numbers:

If you’ve been contacted about other scams, such as HMRC, tax, TV licensing, or lottery scams, you can report these to the police through Action Fraud.
